Compass Home Platform: AI data pledge coming, Anywhere brands by year-end, franchisees in 2027

Original headline: “'The integration is the innovation': Compass' Rory Golod on rolling out the Home Platform” — Inman, Oct 16, 2026

Inman reports Compass president of growth and platform Rory Golod saying Home Platform onboarding for company-owned brands from the $1.6 billion Anywhere Real Estate deal (closed Jan. 9) is underway for thousands of agents and targeted to finish by year-end, with franchisees and affiliates following in 2027 and no mandate to adopt. Golod said Compass has spent close to $2.5 billion over a decade-plus building the integrated platform to replace agents' typical 15–20 daily logins, highlighted CRM metrics such as outreach volume, listings won, and Collections for buyers, and previewed a new AI-focused data pledge so agent data and usage are not shared with third-party AI companies or used to train AI that advantages other agents. He also highlighted AI Assistant, which agents can ask to put a new client in the CRM, set up a Collection, populate properties, and send it — and said outside licensing of Home Platform is not on the table while Compass stays focused on owned brands and then franchisees.

Our take (opinion & analysis, not reporting)

For agents at Compass-owned brands still migrating: ask your brand lead when your office's onboarding window is, what happens to your existing CRM contacts and listing alerts, and get the written data pledge (including the AI add-on once it ships) before you pour years of past-client notes into the platform. If you are at an Anywhere franchisee or affiliate, treat 2027 as the decision year — compare Home Platform's Collections, Reverse Prospecting, and AI Assistant against the CRM and IDX stack you already pay for, since Golod said adoption is not mandated. Non-Compass agents: this interview confirms Compass is not licensing the platform outside its network for now, so plan your own CRM/AI stack rather than waiting for a third-party Home Platform seat.
