The Solo Agent's CRM Guide
You're one person. You don't need a 40-seat command center, team lead routing, or a back office. You need contacts, drip campaigns, transaction checklists, and a system that answers a new lead in under five minutes — even at 11pm.
What a solo agent actually needs
- Contact management that you'll actually use. If it takes six clicks to log a call, you won't.
- Drip campaigns and action plans. Most solo deals come from follow-up, not new leads.
- Transaction checklists. So nothing falls through the cracks between contract and close.
- Speed-to-lead. You don't need round-robin routing — you need your phone to buzz the second a lead comes in.
What you don't need (yet): team routing rules, multi-seat pricing, brokerage back-office tools, or a power dialer.
Our pick: Wise Agent
Why: It's the flat-rate CRM built for exactly this buyer — one agent, sphere and referral business, tight budget. Every independent 2026 roundup we checked lands in the same place: Wise Agent for solo agents, Follow Up Boss for teams that buy portal leads.
Verified pricing (checked live on wiseagent.com/pricing, September 2026):
- CRM: $49/month ($499/year — about $42/month on annual)
- Flat rate includes up to 5 team members, not per-seat
- Drip campaigns and transaction management included on every plan
- No setup fees, free onboarding, unlimited training
- No contract, 14-day free trial, cancel anytime
True first-year cost:
| Billing | Year one |
|---|---|
| Monthly | $588 |
| Annual | $499 |
That's the whole bill for what a solo agent needs. Two caveats, both verified on the pricing page: the power dialer is a separate paid subscription (current price isn't published — confirm before budgeting), and SMS is an add-on (WiseText, $11/month + $80 one-time signup). Starting out, you need neither — your phone and the included tools are enough.
The upgrade if you buy portal leads: Follow Up Boss (Grow plan)
If you're a solo agent buying Zillow or Realtor.com leads every month, the math changes. Portal leads go stale in minutes, and Follow Up Boss's follow-up automation (Action Plans, speed-to-lead tooling) is measurably deeper than Wise Agent's. That's the one solo scenario where FUB earns its premium.
Verified pricing (checked live on followupboss.com, September 2026):
- Grow: $69/month ($58/month billed annually)
- Includes unlimited contacts, texting, and AI features
- No contract, 14-day free trial, cancel anytime
- The calling add-on ($39/month) is optional — skip it at first and use your phone
True first-year cost:
| Billing | Year one |
|---|---|
| Monthly | $828 + tax |
| Annual | $696 + tax |

The decision rule, honestly: referrals and sphere → Wise Agent, and keep the $240+/year difference. Paid portal leads every month → Follow Up Boss Grow, and make the automation earn the premium.
What about the all-in-one platforms?
- Lofty sells a Lofty Agent plan (website + IDX + CRM + AI follow-up in one), but it doesn't publish pricing — everything is quote-based. Worth a demo if you want your website and CRM in one place, but you can't budget for it from public information.
- BoldTrail (formerly kvCORE) is built for brokerages and teams, not solo agents. Skip it for now.
The 10-minute setup that matters more than the CRM
Whatever you choose, do this first — it's free and it closes more deals than any feature list:
- Turn on instant push/SMS notification for every new lead.
- Write one 3-message text follow-up sequence (day 0, day 2, day 7).
- Set a calendar reminder to call every new lead twice in the first 5 minutes (the double-tap), then send your day-0 text.
Run this for two weeks before you buy any add-on. Most solo agents find the base plan is enough.
