Brokers want fewer systems: strongest CRMs hit 40–50% adoption, most stack tools only 15–20%
Original headline: “Brokers to Tech Companies: Fewer Systems, Not More Features” — T3 Sixty (research announcement), Oct 13, 2026
T3 Sixty reports that its study \"What Brokers Want From Technology Companies,\" drawn from more than 500 advisory meetings with independents, franchise affiliates, master franchise networks, portfolio holding companies and mega teams, finds brokers want fewer systems, cleaner data access and proof agents will use what they buy — not more features. Lead researcher Derek Taylor, SVP of technology consulting at T3 Sixty, said the gap between what brokers pay for and what agents use is stark: adoption of most brokerage-provided technology sits at roughly 15% to 20%, versus 40% to 50% for the strongest CRMs; asked to fix one thing, brokers named integration more than anything else, and not one broker in the sample asked for another standalone single-job tool. Eight firms have built, are building or have replaced commercial products with in-house tools (several assembled with general-purpose AI); Taylor said brokers want one interface that connects systems they already pay for, and Jack Miller, T3 Sixty president and CEO, said brokers are great at starting things but less successful maintaining them — an opening for tech companies that solve those problems; the free report lists nine findings including consolidation over capability, broken measurement, compliance/transaction review as the top AI use case not yet bought, and adoption as the product.
Our take (opinion & analysis, not reporting)
For agents and team leads: when your broker pitches another portal, dialer or single-job app, ask how it connects to the CRM you already live in — this study says brokers named integration first and none asked for another standalone tool. If you are choosing or renewing a CRM, weight real agent login and follow-up usage over feature checklists; the report puts the strongest CRMs at roughly 40% to 50% adoption versus about 15% to 20% for most brokerage-provided tech. Prefer one interface that ties together systems you already pay for over stacking another login you will ignore after onboarding week.
