Optimal Blue buys Usherpa CRM to wire product pricing to borrower outreach

Original headline: “Optimal Blue expands into borrower engagement with Usherpa acquisition” — HousingWire, Oct 12, 2026

HousingWire reports Optimal Blue acquired Usherpa, a mortgage-focused CRM and marketing automation platform for borrower engagement, with terms not disclosed; the deal was announced Monday alongside the October 12 article. Usherpa will be natively integrated into Optimal Blue while continuing to serve loan officers, real estate professionals and mortgage companies, aiming to connect borrower outreach with Optimal Blue's product, pricing and eligibility workflows used by more than 200,000 originators. The same day, Optimal Blue said its direct lock now integrates with Fannie Mae's PE – Whole Loan for best-efforts locks from the PPE; HousingWire notes Optimal Blue's network connects about 3,500 lenders with nearly 300 investors and prices and locks more than one-third of mortgages nationwide.

Our take (opinion & analysis, not reporting)

Usherpa also serves real estate professionals and referral sources, so if your preferred LOs already nurture borrowers on Usherpa or Optimal Blue, you may see tighter pricing-plus-follow-up loops after the native integration. Ask those LOs whether they are on Usherpa and what changes for referral partners. This is lender-stack plumbing — not a reason to switch your own CRM.
