iOS 27 cuts off ad-tech trackers in Safari, and Inman asks what your CRM notes say about clients
Original headline: “TMI: What Amazon's shopper profiles mean for your CRM notes” — Inman, Oct 12, 2026
Inman reports Apple's iOS 27, released in mid-September, stops Safari from communicating with several ad-tech firms, including The Trade Desk, LiveRamp, ID5, Permutive and Experian's Audigent, and the block also reaches Chrome and Firefox on iPhones and iPads. The column uses Amazon's beta "About you" page, which shows shoppers what the company has inferred from their purchases, to compare those profiles with the notes agents keep on clients in a CRM. It also cites an SE Ranking analysis finding links to social platforms in 67.66 percent of Google AI Overviews.
Our take (opinion & analysis, not reporting)
If you pay for retargeting or programmatic display ads, ask your vendor which identity providers the campaign relies on and how iPhone traffic is now measured. Reread your CRM notes and lead-form fields as if the client could see them, and rewrite anything you would not want them to read. An opted-in email list is the one channel a browser change cannot take away.
