Google's AI search reports let agents audit Overview and Lens visibility
Original headline: “Google Expands AI Search Reports: How Real Estate Agents Can Audit Their Visibility” — The Close, Oct 12, 2026
The Close reports Google expanded Search Console reporting on September 24 to cover image-based searches such as Google Lens and Circle to Search, after an August 31 worldwide rollout of generative AI performance reports that track impressions in AI Overviews, AI Mode and generative Discover features. The reports show which pages appeared and in which countries, but not AI-specific clicks, CTR or the questions behind those appearances. The Close notes an August 2026 study of 37,500 AI searches across the 100 largest US cities found 91.5% of eligible RealTrends-ranked agents and teams in its benchmark received no AI citations, and cites Bank of America's 2026 Homebuyer Insights Report saying 20% of prospective buyers and current homeowners used AI tools for homebuying research in the prior year (32% among Gen Z respondents).
Our take (opinion & analysis, not reporting)
Open Search Console's generative AI performance report and the multimodal filter, then note which bio and neighborhood pages get impressions. Separately, ask ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode client-style questions about your name and market, and fix outdated brokerage, specialty or phone details on your site, Zillow, Realtor.com and LinkedIn when answers are wrong. If your site is JavaScript-heavy or IDX-based, ask your web vendor to confirm key pages are crawlable — The Close stresses that no audit can guarantee an AI recommendation.
