Albuquerque's SWMLS adds Data Dye to trace misused listing feeds and lines up AI access
Original headline: “SWMLS + SourceRE, Advancing Data Protection and AI Connectivity” — SWMLS (MLS announcement), Oct 9, 2026
In an October 9 post, the Greater Albuquerque Association of REALTORS said Southwest Multiple Listing Service (SWMLS) is launching its SourceRE Data Marketplace integration, set to go live Monday, October 12, moving vendor onboarding, licensing, billing and compliance for website vendors, IDX providers and other third-party listing services into one RESO-certified system with standardized APIs. The launch turns on SourceRE's Data Dye, which embeds invisible vendor-specific identifiers in distributed listing data so that listings showing up on an unauthorized site can be traced back to the originating vendor feed. SWMLS also says the partnership brings SourceRE MCP, a governed connection between its listing data and AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude and Grok, with details on subscriber access and supported AI apps still to come; for subscribers the change is mostly behind the scenes and not something they use directly in Flexmls.
Our take (opinion & analysis, not reporting)
For SWMLS members: your day-to-day Flexmls work shouldn't change, but if your website, IDX search or CRM pulls SWMLS listings, ask that vendor whether its feed now runs through the SourceRE marketplace. Don't plan around the ChatGPT or Claude access yet, since SWMLS hasn't said who gets it or which apps are supported. Agents elsewhere can treat this as a preview of where MLS data is heading: tighter vendor licensing and traceable feeds, with AI access running through the MLS, as in the SourceRE MCP rollout we covered in September.
