Real Geeks AI Connect lets ChatGPT or Claude edit your IDX site pages and blog

Original headline: “Real Geeks AI Connect: Make Website Edits with Your AI of Choice” — Real Geeks (vendor announcement), Oct 6, 2026

Real Geeks says AI Connect lets supported assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude connect to an agent's Real Geeks website over Model Context Protocol so the AI can create and edit pages, blog posts, navigation, sidebars, footers, design, settings, and files after the site owner approves access. Co-founder Kevin McCarthy called it a game changer and said Real Geeks is positioning the feature as IDX software agents can hook to an AI agent to build or edit web pages; the company also offers GeekCLI for coding agents like Claude Code and Codex, plus a Content API for custom integrations, and says AI Connect is included with the base Real Geeks platform (AI-provider plan fees are separate). Real Geeks says owners stay in control — access can be revoked, changes are tracked in site history, new blog posts can start as drafts, and agents should still review facts and local details before publishing; Real Estate News also covered the launch on Oct. 16 alongside other AI CRM connectors.

Our take (opinion & analysis, not reporting)

For Real Geeks users: start with one low-risk draft (a neighborhood page or blog) through the MCP connector, keep publish rights on yourself, and revoke or narrow access if the assistant touches pages you did not ask it to. Before you wire ChatGPT or Claude to live site settings and brand colors, confirm which scopes you granted and that your AI subscription actually supports MCP writes. If you are shopping IDX/CRM stacks, put "can my assistant edit the site under my approval" next to lead routing on the demo checklist — and still fact-check every AI-written market claim before it goes live.
