Idaho's Intermountain MLS opens governed AI access to its listings through SourceRE

Original headline: “Intermountain MLS Partners with SourceRE to Deliver Governed AI Connection to MLS Data” — SourceRE (vendor announcement), Oct 6, 2026

In an October 6 announcement, SourceRE said Intermountain MLS (IMLS), Idaho's largest MLS with nearly 8,000 subscribers, will use the SourceRE MCP to make its MLS data accessible to AI systems such as ChatGPT and Claude through a single governed connection point. IMLS keeps the authority to grant, restrict or revoke access at any time, plus a complete record of how its data is used; SourceRE pitches this as replacing portals, aggregators and scrapers as the go-between for AI tools. IMLS CEO Richard Gibbens also joins SourceRE's Board of Advisors; the release gives no rollout date, pricing or list of supported member apps.

Our take (opinion & analysis, not reporting)

For IMLS members: don't expect a new button in your MLS yet, because the release doesn't say when members can connect or which AI apps qualify, so watch for IMLS's own rollout notice. If you already paste listing details into ChatGPT or Claude, this points toward an MLS-approved route instead. Agents elsewhere: it's another MLS on SourceRE's MCP after SWMLS, so ask your MLS what its AI-access policy is before you build workflows on scraped listing data.
